Rob Davis, PGA Head Professional
Davis has been a Class A Professional since1999 and became a head professional
for the first time when he joined Anglebrook in March of 2002. A native of Kingston,
N.Y., Davis spent the previous seven years at the Seawane Golf Club on Long Island,
during which he gave some 1,500 private lessons. Following his graduation from
Roger Williams University with a
degree in architecture, Davis won The Herdegan, the top amateur event in Ulster
County, N.Y., in 1993 and 1994.
"My apprenticeship was educational and full of hard work. I am going to
bring the same attitude and aspirations to Anglebrook and hopefully pass
those characteristics on to other aspiring professionals."
Susan Nelson, Executive Chef/Food & Beverage Director
Less than a year after joining Anglebrook as Sous Chef, Susan Nelson took over
the dining operation in 2007, becoming an Executive Chef for the first time.
Originally from the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, Nelson has been
in the hospitality business for nearly two decades, and graduated from the Culinary
Institute of America in 2004. Nelson has completely overhauled the dining, halfway
house and catering menus, and describes her cooking style as: “International,
with a personal preference toward Caribbean and American Southern.”
Lou Quick, Golf Course Superintendent (CGCS)
One of the original employees at Anglebrook, Quick joined the club in September of 1994. He represented ownership during the construction of the course from 1994-97 and oversaw the grow-in process. He manages a maintenance staff of 20, implements state-of-the-art irrigation and horticultural practices and upholds rigorous environmental regulations. He obtained a degree in Horticulture from Texas A & M University in 1985.
"We have members here from some of the top clubs in the Metropolitan area and they regularly compliment my staff on the conditioning of the golf course and especially the quality of the grasses. That's all the satisfaction we need."
Matt Sullivan, General Manager
A 15-year golf industry veteran, Sullivan joined Anglebrook following stints with the Bergen Hills Country Club, and The Golf Club at Mansion Ridge. Sullivan’s mission is to continue to grow Anglebrook’s member base, and to elevate the club’s profile in what he calls “the best market for private clubs in the world.” He says Anglebrook is “one of those rare venues where golf simply feels more like golf.” Sullivan is a former award-winning golf writer and editor, has written for TIME, Newsday, The Bergen Record and Travel & Leisure Golf, and has done consulting work for several other golf clubs in the area.
